The suspense continues: Will the Democrats be able to take control of the US Congress?

The situation surrounding the U.S. election remains extremely unpredictable. Many are favoring the Democrats in their predictions, but in reality, nothing has been decided yet.

Oleksandr Kraev, an expert with the “Ukrainian Prism” Foreign Policy Council, spoke about this on 24 Channel. According to him, Republicans always have the trump card of in-person voting. It is their voters who turn out to vote more actively on Election Day.

There have also been interesting cases involving Donald Trump’s voters. People who are ready to vote for him usually do not participate in opinion polls. Therefore, the true standing of Trump and the Republicans is not always known.

Who will win the U.S. election?

As Kraev pointed out, it appears that the Democrats will indeed secure a majority in the House of Representatives. The question is what size their majority will be: a slim 10–15 seats or a solid 25–30. This will determine the balance of power in the committees and the election of the Speaker.

Furthermore, it is not a given that moderate Democrats will constitute the majority there. We are seeing that this year’s Democratic primaries have been a complete triumph for various quasi-communist and pseudo-socialist forces that call themselves progressives. Therefore, the question remains as to how much the Democrats will be able to capitalize on their victory and consolidate it. There is internal division not only among the Republicans but also among the Democrats,
– Kraev noted.

There is currently a lot of intrigue surrounding the Senate. Previously, Republicans were counting on at least 50 seats, which would help them maintain a majority with Vice President J.D. Vance’s tie-breaking vote. Now it looks like the Democrats will have a 1–3-vote majority.

Most of the districts up for re-election are in Democratic states. Accordingly, Democratic senators currently hold those seats. Therefore, even statistically, it will be difficult for the Democrats to significantly tip the scales in their favor,
– said Kraev.

We should add that Donald Trump’s approval rating fell to a record 31%. This is the worst result of his two terms in office. Meanwhile, the U.S. congressional elections will take place on November 3.
