"A Different System of Coordinates": Political Analyst Explains Why Trump's Business Deals Won't Stop Putin

Donald Trump mistakenly hopes to stop the war against Ukraine with economic proposals. He fails to realize that dictator Putin couldn't care less about money in this matter.

Political analyst Valentin Gladkikh spoke about this on Channel 24. According to him, a completely different value system has taken shape in Moscow, one that is not always understood in the West. It makes no sense to pin hopes on business deals or money, since everything is at stake in the pursuit of imperial ambitions.

Why Putin Won’t Stop for Money

The political analyst is convinced that material incentives have long since lost any significance for the Russian dictator.

If they were interested in money or business deals with the U.S. or Europe, all of that would have happened before the full-scale invasion began. They simply operate within a different frame of reference, which is why they are willing to sacrifice the well-being of their own people,
Gladkikh emphasized.

The Russian leadership is consciously choosing isolation, depriving the country of prospects for scientific development, trade, and a normal life.

They are willing to sacrifice the future of their own generations, who are guaranteed a miserable future amid stagnation and degradation. They are willing to go to all these lengths for one thing only – the destruction of Ukraine,
– the expert added.

The failure of the so-called “diesel deal”

Separately, the analyst drew attention to attempts to involve the Kremlin in negotiations through energy agreements. He considers the so-called “diesel deal” completely ineffective, as it has yielded no practical results.

The agreement failed to stabilize the domestic fuel market in the United States and did nothing to improve the U.S. administration’s electoral standing. The main reason is that Russia simply does not have the necessary production capacity to significantly influence the situation.

Previously, experts also emphasized that attempts to appease the aggressor will not work, and concessions only create the illusion of Western weakness for Moscow.
