Trump Fears a Republican Defeat in the US Election: What's at Stake for Him

A Democratic victory in the U.S. congressional elections could pose a serious problem for U.S. President Donald Trump. Predictions vary, but many forecast a Republican defeat, at least in the House of Representatives.

Yuriy Romanyuk, head of the civic organization “Ukraine in NATO,” spoke about this on Channel 24. According to him, all of Donald Trump’s actions are currently aimed at the congressional elections. This explains the pretense of intense negotiations and the pandering to Russia.

The outlook for Trump is bleak

As Romanyuk emphasized, the Republican Party’s position ahead of the elections is extremely precarious. Polls show, with up to a 96% probability, that the Republicans will lose the House of Representatives, where they will win only 196–199 seats, compared to 236–239 for the Democrats.

As for the Senate, the outcome is uncertain. Currently, Democrats are projected to win 51–52 seats, compared to 48–49 for the Republicans. However, the situation could still change.

If the Democrats win both chambers, the Trump administration will undoubtedly face problems. They will immediately come under scrutiny from members of Congress.

Literally just one or two districts could determine the entire future of Trump and his team. Kushner, Witkoff, Hegseth, and Bessent will be summoned to testify before Senate committees. Kushner himself could be accused of engaging in diplomatic work that is not within his purview and of interfering in the peace process,
– said Romanyuk.

The situation with diesel fuel is yet another “show” that Trump is staging to boost his ratings and those of the Republicans. The U.S. has plenty of diesel, and it exports it all over the world.

The U.S. produces too much diesel and sells it everywhere. This is all a ploy so that the Republicans can at least retain control of one chamber of Congress,
Romanyuk noted.

We should add that on the evening of October 20, Trump once again made a series of threats against Ukraine and praised the Kremlin. He is even convinced that Russia could have captured Kyiv in a matter of hours at the start of a full-scale war. However, one of the Russian generals allegedly steered a column of military vehicles into the mud, where it got stuck. The U.S. president is completely convinced of this.
