FC Arsenal-Kyiv

Arsenal-Kyiv – a football club from Kyiv. The club's crest bears the date 1925, which is considered its founding year. At that time a sports ground was opened at the "Arsenal" plant in Kyiv and the first match was played. In 1964 the club was disbanded.

The founding date of the modern "Arsenal" can be considered 2001, when the Kyiv city authorities decided to have a municipal club. At the end of that year, FC "Arsenal" was created, which became the legal successor of CSKA.

In 2007, Vadym Rabinovych became the owner of the club. However, in 2012 the club ran into financial difficulties. At that time it passed into the ownership of Oleksandr Onyshchenko. But he also decided not to finance the club, and in 2013 "Arsenal" failed to turn up for several matches of the championship and the Ukrainian Cup and began bankruptcy proceedings.

After that, concerned businessmen took up the task of saving the club. In 2015 the club regained professional status. Following the 2017/2018 season, "Arsenal-Kyiv" earned the right to play in the UPL.
