However, civic activists and some MPs believe that the authorities will try to use Nigel Brown to dismiss NABU head Artem Sytnyk.

According to activists, a criminal case was opened against Brown in Britain for attempting to bribe a police officer. In addition, the company where Brown worked received money from the offshore companies of Russian oligarchs Berezovsky and Khodorkovsky.

To promote Brown's candidacy, MPs even convened a pseudo-committee. However, at the vote on March 21, the pro-government majority failed to push through the scandalous candidate.
