Oleksandr Litvinenko

A professional intelligence officer; he studied at the FSB Academy in Moscow and headed the National Institute for Strategic Studies.
He headed the Foreign Intelligence Service from July 23, 2021. Before that, from 2014 to 2019, he worked as Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
He was also a member of the delegation newly created on January 8, 2024, to participate in negotiations on security guarantees for Ukraine.
Lytvynenko holds the rank of major general (in reserve).
