Typhoon Jebi

On September 4, 2018, Japan was hit by Typhoon "Jebi", the most powerful in the last 25 years. The storm brought heavy downpours and strong winds to the country, leaving people without electricity and causing serious disruptions to transport.

The typhoon is moving north, towards the country's largest island, Honshu. Wind speeds are 160 kilometres per hour and in places reach 215 kilometres per hour. It tears off building roofs, cars and even sturdy metal structures in its path.

As a result of the natural disaster, 10 people died and more than 300 were injured.
