"We're nearing the end," Trump says of the war in Ukraine

Donald Trump sees the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine approaching. He hopes that the parties will be able to put an end to this “catastrophe.”

“We are close to putting an end – I hope – to the Russian-Ukrainian catastrophe. I hope we will bring this to a close,”said the President of the United States.

Trump also boasted that the U.S. had ended eight wars thanks to tariffs, suggesting that this tool could be used to bring an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine. He posited that 200% tariffs could be imposed on countries if they failed to reach a peace agreement.

"I hadn't thought of that before, but it wouldn't work anyway, since we don't buy much from them," the American leader added.
