Details of the aviation chaos in Russia
At Domodedovo, one flight was canceled and at least 25 others were delayed, while the airport’s official website was no longer accessible.
Passengers at Sheremetyevo are complaining about a complete lack of official information and difficulties in obtaining meals, noting that domestic flights are completely suspended.
Problems have also arisen with international routes: a flight from Antalya, Turkey, bound for the Russian capital, was diverted to Yekaterinburg. The Sheremetyevo press office stated that the airport is forced to operate on an “adjusted schedule” due to restrictions on the use of airspace.
This is not the first time in recent days that flight restrictions have been imposed at the Moscow hub. The day before, on October 23, all four airports in the Russian capital were already suspended operations due to the threat of drone attacks.
