Nicușor Dan was elected President of Romania in the second round of the election on May 18, 2025.
On May 26, 2025, the politician took the oath and officially became President of Romania.
In 2020, he was elected Mayor of Bucharest, and in 2024 – he was re-elected to this post for a second time.
Nicușor Dan won the elections in Romania, overtaking the pro-Russian candidate George Simion.
Dan holds pro-European and pro-Ukrainian views. He is a mathematician by education. He gained popularity through civic activism and fighting illegal construction.
