President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in an interview with Bloomberg .

The U.S. is delaying air defense deliveries

According to the Ukrainian leader, the necessary weapons were procured under the PURL program. The U.S. side approved only a portion of the aid intended for shooting down Russian ballistic missiles.

“We paid for the weapons; part of the deliveries was authorized by the U.S., but the rest was not. And this is not a technical problem,”
” Zelenskyy said.

It is noted that the current volume of interceptor missile deliveries has been cut in half compared to the period when Joe Biden was U.S. president. Moreover, at that time, the missiles were provided to Ukraine free of charge as military aid.

I think the U.S. president really does have a good relationship with Putin. But one thing isn’t working here. Right now, Trump can’t force Putin to stop the war,
the Ukrainian president noted.

The Threat of Blackouts and the Consequences for Cities

The article pointed out that the shortage of air defense systems has arisen during an extremely difficult period for Ukraine – the period of preparation for another winter. Russia’s use of jet-powered drones, combined with a shortage of missiles, makes infrastructure more vulnerable to attacks.

Commenting on efforts to restore relations with the United States, Zelenskyy emphasized the need for a swift response.

“I think that when potential risks to Ukraine reach the scale of a tsunami, we must intervene while it is still just a mild storm. I believe that much more is at stake than an agreement on diesel fuel,”
the Ukrainian president concluded.

As a reminder, against the backdrop of deteriorating relations with the U.S., Zelenskyy listed a series of steps taken by Washington that considers them unfriendly toward Kyiv. In his view, they indicate attempts to force Ukraine to capitulate.

At the same time, the head of state expressed hope that this is not what the “partner” is seeking.
