– noted Jacek Dobrzyński.
At this time, Polish law enforcement officials are not disclosing any additional details regarding who exactly provided the tip or how real the threat is.
Dobrzyński reported that at 11:00 a.m., a meeting will take place at the Anti-Terrorism Center of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) between representatives of the ABW, the police, and the State Protection Service, all of which report to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
Which world leader was the target of the assassination attempt?
As a reminder, Donald Trump has been the target of assassination attempts on multiple occasions. It is known that one of the most high-profile incidents occurred on July 13, 2024, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire from the roof of a building, wounding Trump in the ear, killing one attendee, and wounding two other people.
The attacker was then neutralized by a U.S. Secret Service agent. According to preliminary findings from the FBI investigation, Crooks acted alone, and no evidence of Democratic involvement in the attack was found. However, Trump recently claimed that the attempt on his life during the campaign rally was allegedly part of a Democratic conspiracy aimed at preventing him from participating in the election.
Incidentally, according to the FT, Russia plans to expand its sabotage operations in Europe and is preparing assassination attempts against the heads of defense companies – particularly drone manufacturers – to weaken support for Ukraine. According to the publication’s sources, the Russian military intelligence agency, the GRU, which collaborates with criminal groups, is involved in planning the attacks. European intelligence agencies have already detected and thwarted some of these attacks. The Kremlin aims not only to inflict physical harm but also to intimidate business leaders and dissuade them from cooperating with Ukraine.
