Following the midterm elections, the Democratic Party gained control of both chambers of the U.S. Congress. The Republicans' defeat will weaken Donald Trump's power and trigger resignations in the Pentagon.
Andriy Dobryansky, a representative of the Center for Ukraine-U.S. Relations, spoke about this on 24 Channel. According to him, the election results were devastating for Trump and the Republican Party.

Why did the Republicans lose?
As Dobryansky emphasized, Americans were particularly dissatisfied with rising prices and the economic situation. Many believe that the war against Iran was a mistake. Also, a significant portion of voters is dissatisfied with the harsh actions of ICE, which deported even legal immigrants.
In some respects, this year’s congressional elections were historic. An interesting situation arose in the state of Kansas.
Kansas will be represented by a Democratic senator – something that hasn’t happened in nearly 100 years. Meanwhile, voting is still underway in Mississippi, where the Democratic challenger is leading by several thousand votes. If he wins, he will be Mississippi’s first Black senator. As recently as 50 to 60 years ago, Black people were being attacked there

Overall, the Republicans’ defeat significantly weakens Donald Trump’s position during the final two years of his term. Government officials will be forced to answer to the opposition majority in Congress, which will trigger a series of resignations within the administration. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s position has become precarious.
It should be noted that Trump is already being called a “lame duck” due to his loss of political control over Congress. This significantly limits the influence of the U.S. president during the final two years of his term.
