The U.S. has not officially halted the transfer of intelligence data to Ukraine, but Donald Trump could take that step at any moment. Should such a decision be made, CIA Director John Retcliffe would not stand in the way of the U.S. president.

Sources who have worked with Retcliffe revealed details of his position in an article published by *The Atlantic*. They noted that the CIA director would carry out the order if Trump follows through on his threat to cut off intelligence support in response to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on Russian oil refineries. Despite this, officials in Kyiv trust Retcliffe, as he understands the threat posed by Russia and is capable of conveying the true state of affairs.

What Is Known About Intelligence Cooperation

Last week, Ukraine already felt the consequences of a potential reduction in support when there was a malfunction in the Starlink satellite network and U.S. early-warning systems. This temporarily limited the ability to detect and intercept some Russian missiles, although the cause could also have been a technical glitch.

Despite the complex political rhetoric, the U.S. intelligence community continues to actively support Ukraine’s defense against aggression. U.S. satellites detect missiles and drones, and the information provided enables strikes deep into Russian territory.

CIA operations are now much more aggressive than they were during the Biden administrationsaid an intelligence official from the Baltic states.

Representatives of U.S. intelligence agencies play a leading role in coordinating assistance on the ground. Thanks to this long-standing cooperation, which began back in 2014, a modern intelligence apparatus has been established in Ukraine.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that important ballistic data had not been received for three days, after which the exchange was successfully unblocked.

Also, on October 24 in Ukraine Starlink and Starshield have resumed operations. The speed is now back to what it was before the restrictions.
