A moment of silence
A moment of silence is a ritual of honoring the memory of the dead in Ukraine and around the world.
In Ukraine, a moment of silence has been held every day at 9:00 since March 16, 2022, when Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the decree. It is held to honor the memory of those killed as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine.
On February 11, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada voted as a whole to make the nationwide moment of silence, as a ritual of gratitude, honor and remembrance, mandatory.
