Alexey Yukov

Alexey Yukov was a Ukrainian public figure who searched for and reburied the bodies of fallen soldiers. 

Alexey Yukov devoted 27 years of his life to this work. As a teenager, he joined a group that excavated World War II battle sites. Since 2014, he had been searching for Ukrainian soldiers killed during Russia's war against Ukraine. 

Over 4 years of war, the head of the search team "Platsdarm" and his people found the bodies of more than 3.5 thousand soldiers. 

Alexey Yukov was killed at the front on August 5, 2026. His wife Yevheniia Kaluhina wrote about the tragedy.

Ukrainian soldier Serhii Hnezdilov wrote that Alexey Yukov was mortally wounded during the exhumation of bodies on the line of contact.

The Sloviansk City Military Administration reported that the car in which Alexey Yukov was returning from a mission hit a mine in the Lyman community.
