Channel 112
Channel 112 is a TV channel of the Novyny media holding, which also includes the ZIK and NewsOne TV channels. Its unofficial owner is pro-Russian oligarch and Putin's crony Viktor Medvedchuk.
On September 26, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting refused to extend the digital broadcasting license of the 112 Ukraine TV channel. This is not about stripping the 112 Ukraine channel of its license: it has a satellite license and will continue broadcasting, but about regional companies that were obliged to broadcast as regional channels rather than retransmit a national channel.
National Council member Serhii Kostynskyi, reading out the draft decision, stated that the 112 Ukraine channel had systematically violated the license terms and had received several warnings.
The Kyiv District Administrative Court refused to satisfy the 112 Ukraine TV channel's demand to suspend the decision of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting to cancel the channel's digital license.
