Clashes Outside the Verkhovna Rada
On the morning of December 17, a rally gathered outside the parliament building, its participants demanding that the bill on the land market not be adopted in the second reading. The protesters oppose lifting the moratorium on the sale of farmland to companies and foreigners.
The protest was organized by several political forces, in particular: the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda", the All-Ukrainian Union "Batkivshchyna", the "Agrarian Party" and the "National Corps". In total, according to the police, about 1,500–2,000 people are taking part in the protest. It is currently known that one man was injured in the clashes. His condition is moderate.
The demonstrators began pitching tents on the roadway near the Verkhovna Rada building. The police tore them down.
Similar protests are taking place throughout Ukraine.
