Kapustin Yar
Kapustin Yar (abbreviated Kap-Yar) – a missile military testing range in the north-western part of Astrakhan Oblast in Russia. It is considered Russia's most prestigious testing range for launches of intercontinental missiles.
It was at this range that an intercontinental ballistic missile was tested in April 2024.
On November 21, 2024, Russia attacked Ukraine with missiles of various types, one of which was presumably launched from the Kapustin Yar missile range. This refers to the "Oreshnik" missile.
