Kirill Budanov was the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine (HUR) from August 5, 2020, to January 2, 2026. At the time, he became the youngest head of intelligence in its history.
What is known about Budanov?
Budanov graduated from the Odesa Institute of the Land Forces, then joined the intelligence special forces.
He is married to Marianna Budanova. Since February 24, 2022, the family lived in the HUR building.
In Russia, it was decided to "arrest Budanov in absentia", accusing him of a "terrorist attack".
