Liman

A city in the north of the Donetsk region in the Kramatorsk district. Lyman was occupied by Russian troops on May 27, 2022. The city became an important logistics hub for the occupiers.

On October 1, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Lyman during a successful counteroffensive. During the occupation, Russian troops caused significant destruction to infrastructure and residential neighbourhoods, and also committed war crimes.
