Moratorium on the sale of land

The ban (moratorium) on the sale and alienation of agricultural land means that owners of land shares cannot freely dispose of them, and the only way to transfer land for use by other persons is to conclude a lease agreement.

The reason for the ban is the lack of infrastructure in Ukraine for introducing a market for the purchase and sale of agricultural land.In Ukraine, the moratorium has been extended 7 times. Most recently in 2015.

The moratorium prohibits the sale of a land plot, but it is possible to lease a land share.
