Nepal

Nepal is a country in South Asia bordering China and India. In Kathmandu, protests broke out over corruption, a ban on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube and X) and the lack of reforms. These protests are called the "Gen Z revolution", as young people took to the streets fighting for their rights.

Firearms were used against the protesters. As of September 9, 2025, at least 19 people are known to have been killed. 

The protesters, in turn, began setting fire to officials' homes. In particular, they set fire to the homes of the president, the prime minister and others. 

As of September 9, 2025, the prime minister had resigned, and the president called on citizens to hold talks.
