Oleksandr Danylyuk

Oleksandr Danylyuk is the former Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council. Danylyuk has been in the civil service since 2005. In 2006–2010, Danylyuk managed an investment fund in London and Luxembourg. Danylyuk held senior posts during the presidencies of Yushchenko and Yanukovych. He was an adviser to Prime Minister Yurii Yekhanurov. In 2014, President Petro Poroshenko appointed Danylyuk as his permanent representative in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

In September 2015, the then head of state appointed Danylyuk Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine. In June 2018, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman asked the Verkhovna Rada to dismiss Danylyuk, and 254 deputies voted in favour.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Oleksandr Danylyuk Secretary of the NSDC on May 28. In this post, he replaced Oleksandr Turchynov.

On September 27, Danylyuk submitted his resignation letter to the president. On September 30, Zelenskyy signed it.

Oleksandr Danylyuk assured that his dismissal from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council was his personal initiative. He decided to leave the post because he "had no desire to take part in the under-the-carpet games of certain characters".
