An ombudsman is an official who monitors whether the legal rights and interests of citizens are respected.
The post of ombudsman exists in many countries of the world.
In Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights is Dmytro Lubinets, the Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Servicemen, the military ombudsman, is Olha Reshetylova, and the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language is Olena Ivanovska.
