"Oreshnik"

On November 21, 2024, Russia struck Dnipro with a ballistic missile that the Russians called "Oreshnik". According to Vladimir Putin, there are allegedly "no systems" in the world capable of countering this missile. However, this is just an information campaign aimed at the West.

Russia launched an "Oreshnik" at Ukraine for the second time late in the evening of January 8, 2026, striking the Lviv region.

The enemy struck with an "Oreshnik" for the third time on the night of May 24, 2026, launching two missiles. In a letter to Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Russia had launched an "Oreshnik" at the Kyiv region, and the second fell in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. It is known that the "Oreshnik" hit garages in Bila Tserkva and the occupied Avdiivka–Yasynuvata area.

The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine noted that the "Oreshnik"  is actually the "Kedr". This missile has been under development since 2018 – 2019 to update the old "Yars" model. The missile is launched from the "Kapustin Yar" test site.
