PACE
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is a consultative body consisting of parliamentarians from all member states of the Council of Europe.
The Assembly is one of the most important statutory bodies of the Council of Europe. PACE's activities consist of monitoring the foreign and domestic policies of European countries. Its powers also include making decisions on problems of discrimination, xenophobia and any other manifestations of human rights violations.The Belgian representative, liberal Hendrik Daems, was elected the new President of the Parliamentary Assembly. In previous years, he mostly abstained in votes on Ukrainian issues.
And a member ofthe Ukrainian delegation to PACE from "Servant of the People", Oleksandr Merezhko, was elected Vice-President.
