Pavlo Hryb

A Ukrainian political prisoner captured by the Russians in Belarus in August 2017. Pavlo came to the city of Gomel to meet Yershova, whom he considered his friend. His arrest was in fact a special operation by Russian security forces: the young man was abducted and taken to Krasnodar Krai, where he was imprisoned.

The Ukrainian is accused of inciting Russian citizen Tatiana Yershova to commit a terrorist attack at a school assembly in the Russian city of Sochi. Pavlo himself said he does not admit the charges and called the case fabricated.

On March 22, 2019, a Russian court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the young man to 6 years of imprisonment in a general-regime penal colony.
