Poroshenko's Tapes
On May 19, 2020, MP Andrii Derkach released recordings of conversations between former US Vice President, and now presidential candidate, Joe Biden and Petro Poroshenko.According to Derkach, the audio recordings were made in 2015–2016.
The tapes allegedly refer to receiving 1 billion dollars for preserving Burisma's schemes and dismissing then Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.The Office of the Prosecutor General registered criminal proceedings regarding the audio recordings.
The State Bureau of Investigation opened proceedings on the wiretapping of President Poroshenko.Former US ambassadors to Ukraine released a joint statement on the tapes. In it, they spoke of an attempt to drag Ukraine into the internal affairs of the United States.
