Protests in Tehran
In the Iranian capital Tehran, as well as in other major cities, mass protests with clashes have been going on for the second day. People once again came out against the Iranian authorities, who admitted that their military had accidentally shot down a UIA plane with 176 people on board with a missile.
Protesters also tore up and burned photographs of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani, whom the US killed on January 3 in Iraq in a missile strike.
The police used tear gas, stun grenades, water cannons and batons against people.
