Quarantine Violations in Cherkasy

From May 1, the Cherkasy authorities decided to ease the quarantine for some of the city's entrepreneurs. The corresponding decision was made even though easing across the country is planned only from May 11.The actions of the city head led the police to open a criminal proceeding.

Bondarenko himself believes that easing the quarantine in Cherkasy is justified.Interior Minister Arsen Avakov threatened Anatolii Bondarenko on social media with a tough response to his decision.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that easing the quarantine in Cherkasy was an attempt by the local authorities to gain political ratings at the cost of the lives and health of city residents.

Maksym Stepanov, head of the Ministry of Health, came to the regional center to declare that he categorically does not support the local authorities' decision.
