Russian Passports in Donbas
On April 24, Russian President Putin signed a decree on a simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for residents of the occupied territories in Donbas. Later he stated that he was not opposed to granting Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure to all Ukrainians. And on May 1, Putin signed a decree on a simplified procedure for obtaining a Russian passport for Ukrainians from occupied Crimea.
