The Meat Scandal in Europe
One of the largest Irish meat processing companies recalled more than 10 million semi-finished burger patties from supermarkets in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
The reason was that the state consumer rights commission found 28% horse meat in some burger samples. The scandal flared up because eating horse meat is unacceptable for the people of Ireland.
