The NEYMA Tanker

On July 24, the SBU detained the Russian tanker NIKA SPIRIT with IMO number 8895528, identified as the tanker NEYMA.It was the tanker NEYMA that blocked Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait, as a result of which 24 Ukrainian sailors were captured by the Russian Federation.

The vessel entered the port of Izmail under the Russian flag on July 24, which immediately attracted the attention of the military prosecutor's office. Investigators established that the vessel's name had been changed to "NIKA SPIRIT" to hide its involvement in the seizure of Ukrainian boats.
