The Sadovyi Case
On November 21, 2019, the SAPO served Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi with a notice of suspicion over the allocation of a land plot in one of the city's districts for the construction of an industrial park in 2015. The prosecutor's office believes that the Lviv City Council sold the land too cheaply – for 52 million hryvnias – and sees corruption in this.
However, the value of the land was assessed not by the Lviv City Council, since it has no such powers, but by a certified company.
SAPO investigators asked the prosecutor for a preventive measure for Sadovyi in the form of 56 million hryvnias. Sadovyi was set bail of 1 million 56 thousand. However, following his appeal, it was cancelled and replaced with a personal recognizance.
