The Scandal Involving the Czech Prime Minister
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis is accused of fraud involving European Union funds. In order to "fit" his own farm and conference center, known as "Stork's Nest", into an EU subsidy program, Babis Sr. concealed that he was their owner. The fraud was exposed, and an investigation began. Babis Jr., to whom his father attributed the role of the center's owner, turned to the media and claimed that he had been abducted to occupied Crimea. He told journalists that long ago, due to a conflict with the police, he had ended up at the National Institute of Mental Health, where he was issued a certificate of mental illness. The son says he knew nothing about it. After the accusations were brought against the prime minister, according to Babis Jr., the husband of psychiatrist Dita Protopopova forcibly took him to Russia-annexed Crimea, because his father wanted his son to "disappear". Andrej Babis himself, however, says that all this is untrue and that his children have mental disorders. All of them. Therefore, they cannot give any testimony.
