The Situation in Zolote

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Zolote in Donbas. Here, in addition to local residents, he also talked with people who called themselves volunteers. The conversation with the latter turned out to be extremely emotional – loud statements were made both by the president and by the people who called themselves volunteers. In particular, Zelenskyy stated that he "doesn't care with whom there will be a truce".

Zelenskyy pointed out that local residents had told him about the volunteers – allegedly "a group of armed people settled on the outskirts in a private house", which greatly frightened people. The Joint Forces Command, for its part, stated that these people have nothing to do with either the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the security agencies, and therefore have no right to be present and operate in the Joint Forces Operation area. In addition, the headquarters emphasized that these volunteers are in Zolote with weapons illegally and are violating the law on the Joint Forces Operation.
