Traffic Accident in Zhytomyr Oblast
The accident occurred in Zhytomyr region on September 22 on the Kyiv–Chop highway near the village of Velykyi Molodkiv in Novohrad-Volynskyi district. The driver of a DAF truck lost control and crashed into a bus on the Zhytomyr–Yaremche route. The bus was standing on the roadside – the bus driver had stopped to change a wheel.
9 bus passengers died at the scene of the crash. The truck driver and 9 more passengers aged 42 to 71 were taken to hospital.
The truck driver, who lost control and crashed into the bus, was detained by law enforcement officers.
