Anti-Bandera Law
The Law on the Institute of National Remembrance – is the so-called "anti-Bandera law". On February 6, 2018, the document was signed by President of Poland Andrzej Duda. Before that, on January 26, the law was adopted by the Polish Sejm.
The law provides for criminal liability for anyone who, on the territory of Poland, publicly uses the term "Polish concentration camps", or attributes complicity in the Holocaust to the Polish state or its people, or denies the "crimes of Ukrainian nationalists". Violators in Poland will face a fine or imprisonment of up to three years.
The international community was outraged by the adoption of the law on "Banderism". Particular dissatisfaction was expressed by Israel and Ukraine.
