Anti-Russian protests in Georgia
Mass protests began in Georgia on June 20. It was all because of the behaviour of deputies of the Russian State Duma who arrived at the country's parliament to take part in the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy. The event was opened not by the speaker of the Georgian parliament, but by communist Sergei Gavrilov, a deputy of the Russian Duma.
This outraged Georgians: they came to the walls of parliament and are demanding an apology from the Russians, as well as the resignation of the head of parliament Irakli Kobakhidze, Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia and head of the State Security Service of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri.
