Ukraine is expanding its campaign of strikes against Russian infrastructure, targeting not only oil refineries but also data centers on which Russia’s digital services, businesses, and government systems depend. At the same time, the resumption of strikes on oil refineries and the targeting of facilities thousands of kilometers from the Ukrainian border demonstrate that Russia’s rear remains vulnerable.

Reports of a possible plague outbreak in Russia’s Irkutsk Oblast have sparked concern far beyond its borders. The incident was triggered by the death of a young female employee at a research institute; however, there is still no confirmation of a plague infection, and the circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

Russia stands to lose far more than just individual oil refineries or military facilities.
