Cherkasy Monkeys Basketball Club
A Ukrainian basketball club from the city of Cherkasy, founded in 2003 as Riatuvnyk-Cherkasy. Since 2004, it has existed under the name Cherkasy Monkeys.
Before the start of the 2009-2010 season, the team's management set a course for a "reboot" and Ukrainization. That season, the Cherkasy team began playing in the Higher League. The team's management set the task of winning gold in the second most important Ukrainian championship and returning to the Superleague. After the first stage of the competition, Volodymyr Kholopov's team set a fantastic streak of 20 consecutive wins and continues to move towards its goal.
With the arrival of the coach associated with the loudest successes in our club's youth basketball, the focus was placed on the club's own graduates. At the same time, due to events in the country, foreign players began to leave Ukraine. The promising young players, led by captain Andrii Kalnichenko, finished the championship in 11th place.
In the Ukrainian Cup, the club is among the top four.
