Dmytro Tymchuk died on June 19, 2019. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, Tymchuk shot himself while cleaning an award weapon, a pistol. This information was confirmed by MP Anton Herashchenko.

Interior Ministry spokesman Artem Shevchenko said that law enforcement officers are considering 3 versions of Tymchuk's death: murder, suicide and careless handling of a weapon. According to one of the witnesses, the MP was not alone in the apartment.
