Easter
Easter is a major Christian holiday celebrated in Ukraine and around the world.
Traditionally, Easter breads are baked for Easter, symbolising the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and the new life he gave to people. Eggs are dyed for the holiday as a symbol of fertility and the victory of life.
Easter is preceded by Great Lent, which symbolises the 40-day fast of Jesus Christ in the desert before his preaching.
