Elections in Donbas
The Ukrainian side of the negotiation process believes that elections in Donbas are possible only after certain provisions of the Minsk agreements are changed. In particular, it proposes that Russian armed formations be withdrawn from the region and the Ukrainian section of the state border be restored before the elections are held.
The head of state hopes that elections in occupied Donbas can be held as early as this autumn. In his opinion, it would be great if they were held together with local elections throughout Ukraine.
