FC Chornomorets
"Chornomorets" – a football club from Odesa. Founded in 1936. Its current name dates from 1958 (before that it was called "Dynamo", "Kharchovyk", "Spartak" and "Metalurh").
Since independence, "Chornomorets" has twice won silver medals (in the 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons). The club finished third three more times (seasons 1992/93, 1993/94 and 2005/2006).
The club has won the Ukrainian Cup twice: the first time – in 1992 (beating Kharkiv's "Metalist"), the next – in the 1993/94 season (beating Simferopol's "Tavriya" in a post-match penalty shoot-out).
Following the 2017/2018 season, the club was supposed to leave the UPL (the Odesa side lost the play-off matches to FC "Poltava"), but after the Poltava club withdrew from the competition, "Chornomorets" was returned to the elite of Ukrainian football.
It plays in Odesa at the "Chornomorets" stadium.
