FC Desna

Desna – a football club from Chernihiv. Its founding date is considered to be 1960. However, the current team was created in 2010 after the previous club ceased to exist.

Based on its performance in the 2016/2017 season, "Desna" earned the right to play in the Ukrainian Premier League. However, the team was refused participation in the UPL because the Yurii Gagarin Stadium did not meet the requirements. Their place was taken by Rivne's "Veres". The very next season, the Chernihiv team broke into the UPL, beating Kropyvnytskyi's "Zirka" in the play-off matches.

It made its UPL debut in a home match against Donetsk's "Shakhtar".

The club's nickname – the Siverians.
