FC Lviv
"Lviv" – a club from the city of the same name. Its founding date is considered to be 2006. However, legally FC "Lviv", which plays in the UPL in the 2018/2019 season, – is the legal successor of Rivne's "Veres".
Before that, a club of the same name had already played in the elite of Ukrainian football in the 2008/2009 season. In its very first match, the Lviv team defeated the reigning champions – Donetsk's "Shakhtar". However, at the end of the season they finished 15th and left the UPL. In their last match they played the Lviv derby against "Karpaty". Having missed a penalty, the team lost 1:2.
Later the club played in the First League and ceased to exist as a professional club in 2012.
Professional activity resumed in 2017, when the team began playing in the Second League. In the 2017/2018 season, FC "Lviv" reached the quarter-final of the Ukrainian Cup.
In the 2018/2018 season, FC "Lviv" took the place of Rivne's "Veres" in the UPL. Legally, it was NK "Veres" that changed its name to FC "Lviv" (the date 2006 disappeared from the Lviv club's crest).
The team plays at the "Arena Lviv".
