Jobs' Death

In 2004, doctors discovered that Steve Jobs had pancreatic cancer and predicted only a few weeks of life, but it turned out that he had a rare type of cancer that could be cured. Steve underwent surgery in time and continued to work at Apple. In April 2009, Jobs underwent a liver transplant.

From January 2011, he was on indefinite medical leave, but he invariably presented his company's new products to the public. In August 2011, Steve Jobs announced that he was stepping down as the company's CEO.

On October 5, 2011, after a long illness, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs passed away at the age of 56. On the same day, US President Barack Obama and his wife, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Google founder Sergey Brin publicly expressed their condolences and sorrow over his death.

Steve was buried on Friday, October 7, and the media reported that the ceremony was very modest. Jobs is buried at Alta Mesa Cemetery, a non-denominational cemetery. Later, the Santa Clara County Department of Public Health reported that the cause of his death was a metastatic neuroendocrine tumour of the pancreas.
