Kreminna was once a city of several tens of thousands of people in the Luhansk region, known as the "lungs of Donbas" because of its excellent recreational opportunities.During the full-scale war in Ukraine, it is a strategically important settlement, the so-called "gateway to Donbas", control over which makes it possible to regain other important industrial cities of the Luhansk region – Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk.
